Front paths, side access, garden walkways and stepping stones collect a slow build-up of algae, moss, leaf tannins and soil wash that makes them look tired and, more importantly, makes them slippery after Sydney rain. Pathway cleaning removes that layer and restores the original colour of the concrete, pavers, sandstone, slate or exposed aggregate underneath.

Each path is checked before any water is turned on. Concrete and exposed aggregate handle a rotary surface cleaner well, which gives an even finish without the stripes left by wanding. Sandstone, slate, older pavers and soft mortar joints are treated at much lower pressure with the right cleaning solution so the surface and jointing sand are not damaged. Paths beside painted walls, garden beds and rendered piers are cleaned with the surrounds protected and rinsed down afterwards.

Typical jobs include the path from the street to the front door, the side path down to a back yard or bin storage, paths around pools and clotheslines, and steps and landings where the tread surface has become dangerously slick. Edges, joints and step nosings are detailed by hand so the whole path looks finished rather than only the flat middle section.
